The International Coconut Community (ICC) Secretariat had the honour of welcoming H.E. Sashikala Premawardhane, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Indonesia, during her courtesy visit to the ICC Headquarters in Jakarta on 31 March 2026. The visit marked an important step toward strengthening collaboration between Sri Lanka and ICC in advancing sustainable development within the global coconut sector.

The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms. Nilanthi K. Pelawaththage, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Sri Lanka, and was warmly received by the Director General of ICC, along with the Deputy Director General and Directors of the Secretariat.

The International Coconut Community (ICC) successfully concluded its participation in the 4th International Conference of Tropical Plants (ICTP 2026), held from 23–25 March 2026 at The Zign Hotel, Pattaya, Thailand. The conference, jointly organized by Hainan University, China and Kasetsart University, Thailand, was convened under the overarching theme “Cultivating Climate Smart Resilience for a Sustainable Bio-Economy.”

The International Coconut Community (ICC) participated in the 13th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD 13), held in Bangkok, Thailand, as an observer Intergovernmental Organization, reaffirming the strategic importance of the coconut sector in accelerating progress toward the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Forum, convened by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), brought together ministers, senior government officials, UN agencies, development partners, civil society, the private sector, and youth representatives from across the Asia-Pacific region.
